I’m Nadine and I’m an elementary and junior high teacher in north west Saskatchewan.
This blog is all about me, the mountain of goals I wish to accomplish, the things I see, the places I go, the things I do, and the stuff I make. I’ve always been creative, but 2011 has been marked as my “Year of Creativity” thanks to a list of 52 projects I’m hoping to tackle. I love to scrapbook, which of course means I’m into photography. Thanks to teaching art I have become interested in painting. My mom taught me how to sew when I was a kid, but sewing clothing just wasn’t for me. Last summer I bought my first jelly roll and I’ve been a fan of quilting ever since, and now I feel like I’m getting a chance to teach my mom something. She also taught me how to cook and bake and I am forever on a quest for another new recipe. I decided to start a blog to document my crafty endeavors as I tackle this list.
Today I still feel like a bit of a granny when I tell people about my “domestic” hobbies, but thanks to the blogosphere I have found myself amongst highly creative people my own age, who don’t seem like grannies at all! The high school home ec teacher at the school where I work, who is younger than me also loves to quilt and sew, shares this passion with me, and since discovering that we are very alike in the “domestic” department I have often said that we are just like little old ladies, except we really aren’t very old.
